Sinopsis: Eight-step mantis boxing is an offshoot of Chinese mantis boxing, mainly spreading in the traditional Taiwanese martial arts community. The Babu Tanglang Quan is a kind of Han fist, which imitates the action of the praying mantis, a kind of pictogram fist. It is one of the four famous fists in Shandong province, it is also one of the first recognized by the 国家 体育 总局 武术 运动 管理 中心 or Wushu Sports Management Center of the State General Sports Administration, included in the systematic study and the development of the traditional martial arts of 9 schools. At the beginning of the ROC, Jiang Hualong, who was proficient in Tanglang Quan, along with Wang Zongqing, who was proficient in Bagua Zhang boxing, and Chen Deshan, who was proficient in Xingyi Quan and Tongbei Quan, worked together to create a new type of Tanglang Quan.
His basic movements consist of 8 methods and 8 sets of feet, which is why Jiang Hualong named him Babu Tanglang Quan. His movements include a circular body method (Bagua), a round back method with a long smooth body method (Dongbei), plus a precise, ruthless and direct method and meaning (Xingyi).
